map notes
Alright, I'm back with another map based on another mechanic that isn't used too much, and it's down-dash jumping. Just like the name implies, you down-dash and then jump to get under an obstacle without losing horizontal momentum, and you continue on the other side with more height than if you just dashed. It has some good uses but rarely is it required to SS a map. This one however should require you to learn it, although some parts don't force you to do it  (it'll be much faster if you do though). Please have a little bit of patience in the beginning, it can be a little rough to get the hang of it, but once you do it's really not too bad.

Map was optimized for Dustman and Dustgirl so I highly recommend you use those. Dustkid can probably cheese the whole thing but come on, don't be a poopyfart.

I put a lot of effort into the background this time, and hopefully it looks okay to you guys.
I really really hope the colors don't look too awful. My secondary monitor which I used for coloring broke down yesterday and I've had to do all of this with my crappy laptop monitor.

Thanks to Seight, Takari and Tropicallo for helping me test this.

ps: Oh yeah and there's a secret room. It's really easy to find.

Very creative jumps and the map looks gorgeous.

The start feels so frustrating first and the dash->jump from the wall to hit the prism even more. Really pretty though :-)

That part in the 3rd checkpoint was initially easier to do for Dustman, but Dustgirl was unable to do it, or when she managed to get over the gap she couldn't retain speed. I ended up reworking it to allow both characters to be able to do it but at the cost of it becoming a little more tricky.

The part right before the 3rd checkpoint? after the wooden slope?

That's the bit I can't do - are you not supposed to hit the top prism when climbing upwards towards it? If so, I might have borked up the checkpoint there.

No, no, after the wooden slope. Where you ceiling run, destroy the square prism, down-dash jump and light the surface dust as you drop. into the stone slope.

Tiinker: You're supposed to hit the prism as you jump toward the wall, so that you then have the air charge to dash -> jump off of it and over the spike floor. I believe jump -> dash also works. Check some replays, it's really pretty simple.

Got it! Sorry for the painful replay, didn't expect those smokey areas to be death zones. I guess I'll try this map for a while, good practice for these jumps.

Definitely not a technique you usually use, but it's implemented very well in this map.

Also it's very pretty.

Omg, a mechanic I've never seen that doesn't' rely on stupidly shaped blocks! I'm totally stealing this for my next level! oops, I just fell outside of the level.
