map notes
Hi!
This is my first map where i made myself used to the map editor.
The background is just randomly put in. Maybe somebody likes it and i hope everything works.

Man, those tiny triangle jumps took me a while to figure out. Might want to give a heads up that you should walljump off of them - fun to use, but really tricky to pull off consistently. The background/foreground thing is a bit iffy - you expect the brighter, yellow colour to be the one you can stand on, especially as the enemies are yellow as well.

yea sorry for the visuals, i got impatient when i finished the tiles and stuff, that i wanted to finish the entire map. next time i'll get some focus on contrast :-)

Really fun map!
Also I liked the initial background effect (those geometric shapes).

For some weird reason the map lags at the first wall run area, I'm not sure why because there is almost nothing there. Oh well it really doesn't detract from the map too much. Great job! Those mini triangles are extremely fun!

Edit: Oh wait I get it now, you used a whole bunch of those props to get that green smoky looking background there.

Oh my gosh those baby triangles! Dx
I agree though, the parallaxing on those geometric shapes and cogs are beautiful.

I hated this map at first... but then I learned how to do the triangle jump bits... and now it's actually one of my favourite challenge-y bits to use in a level! I can't stop playing it!! :D

Really cool map Superkid! Just wish my NIC card hadn't burned out so that bit at the wall wouldn't lag so much while playing on my laptop. Oh well I'll give it another shot when I get that replaced.

NIC stands for Network Interface Card.

NIC Card literally means Network Interface Card Card. it bugs me when people do this XD

1. Really digging yellow + gray (one of my favorite combos)
2. Agreed, the triangles were weird.. Like I'm not even sure how I was interacting with them? I don't know how going down towards it and jumping made me do a wall jump kind of thing and I wonder how you could emphasize this. I do think the lights at the end help, they're sort of like "GO HERE." Maybe in combination with a fake wall to the left of them?
3. omg super slide ending

mh i felt the triangles were like a spikejump without getting an air charge. I'll try the fake walls next time :-)
sadly the sliding is only possible with dustman/girl in its full length

hmm the gameplay was alright but the visuals were very weird. i agree with Tinker; the grey stuff should have been in the background and the yellow stuff should have been what you walk on. that would make more sense.

i wonder if its possible to paint the "destroyable" blocks in another color then the collision tiles? i wouldve overthought my color decision twice then :x

its sort of possible; you just make the trigger less than 100% opaque. you have to play around with it a little, though. also, not all color combinations are possible.

I've got a couple of fog presets set up for you which does this, if you want to add me on Steam, I can give you a link :3

And you can get the same effect with many more colours by experimenting with layer 20. It's easier to set up the first time, but IMO quite a lot harder if you change your mind later
