"Probably my best map ever"
Greetings and salutations dustfrens, I am here with a real treat for you all tonight. See, usually I make maps however I want, only holding them to my own high standard. For a change, I decided to remake another stock level but keep the standard the same as the original map. Combat Tutorial is widely regarded by noobs, pros, casuals, speedrunners, average joes, your mother, and even my dog, as a bad map. It might actually be the worst stock map in Dustforce DX. So naturally, I decided to base a map on it.
Making this map was a challenge, perhaps not for the reasons you might think. I intentionally kept a bunch of dumb shit in the map, and willingly made it worse than I normally would, just to keep that Combat Tutorial feel. The text is written in an obviously satirical style. I think you'll find that this map has the right balance of hate and heart, of spite and humor, of soul and soul-crushing. I have raised the bar, I have unleashed the beast, and I have awoken the Kraken. If you put your mind to it, you can make anything. Never let anyone tell you it can't be done. IT CAN! You have the power. I have the power. Together, we can summon Captain Planet.
