map notes
I was inspired by the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas" and I chose the title above because of the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpvdAJYvofI

I worked on the cameras and made it more decorative. Thank you Jvcpro, Hourglass, Syena, and YumBunz for testing!  I hope you enjoy :)

Good.

Edit: I never knew you were referring to a song until Jvc told me :( (I like the song though)

The limited resources available in the editor forced me to be more creative... which I liked and disliked at the same time. I'm glad you like my skeletons though :D

I tried to recreate the one from the movie: https://38.media.tumblr.com/a7afbce3de6d84e9471d739ce0e9e3d5/tumblr_mg95k76hFu1r1mtsdo1_500.gif

Gorgeous, creative visuals. The ending and the skeletons in particular, although there's lots of cool tidbits to be found. Just watch out with things like the trees at the start, they lag fairly quickly (it doesn't matter much here as you're going in a straight line, but hey).

Do you know many trees are acceptable until it starts to lag?

It's different for everyone, but I was pretty concerned about potential lag on my last map, clunk.  I ended up not using props outside the play area and not really decorating layer 20 out of caution.  If you want to see what too many props will do, play Alpine by Meark.

Thank you. I will check out Alpine. Is there anything else that causes lag other than the camera and props?

Did nobody else have a really hard time telling where the ground was on this one? I got repeatedly lost, visually. Very pretty level otherwise.

What is your name on the leaderboards? I would like to watch your replay to see where you got lost.

The visuals were a little disorienting at first, but the only thing I actually had trouble seeing was the porcupine. I didn't even know it was there until I supered too early one time and got an AS. :P

Is it the whole map or particular sections? Ahh, I understand. The porcupine does seem to blend in with the tree. I hadn't noticed that.  Should I fix the opacity and re-upload it?

Nooo that's not necessary. The porcupine is in the only place that it's reasonable to use a super. I had just been using it a little earlier (right before you exit the spiky S-tunnel) because when I didn't know it was there, it cleared everything else on the screen.

After 1 or 2 playthroughs everything else is pretty clear IMO.

Ahh okay. I'll double check next time I make a new map.

This map had excellent visuals and gameplay, but way too scary. 1/5.  Bad map.
