Currently my best run, I tend to do a lot of offline playing.

Well, making this map sure was one hell of a journey.

so i played through this map 2 times now with SD completion and i can say that this is the worst out of the "rom hack" maps because its just made for the sake of being hard which makes it not fun at all. a good hard map should be SSable with the skill a player has and not by random lucky factors that can ruin a SS run. ofc you could say that it takes skill to do this map i dont deny that but there are some places of the map that are just random and you have to get lucky to get it right and its not fun ramming your head into a random element that only works 50% of the time. just my opinion i wont go for SS because i dont have fun playing the map GL to the ones who attempt it.

I wasn't trying to make this simply for the sake of being hard at all.
Might I ask what places of the map you think are just 'random'? I could get past every part of the map every time, as long as my fingers didn't go AWOL (which happens to me when i least want it to, thanks to having brain damage).

I watched magnet build this map and I know for a fact he tested all components separately and has completed each section multiple times successively. It is difficult but with enough skill it is SS able simply through skill

Which part do you think is random? I thought the part with the 1 square distance jump thing was random at first, but after I did Magnet's Climbing map http://atlas.dustforce.com/1909/climbing I guess it should be doable.

i consider myself and many others do to as one of the players that attempt retarded hard shit. and having multiple places you only have 1 pixel to jump to make the jump (as dustkid) makes the map random and stupid as shit maybe with dustman its different i dont know i only play dustkid. and its definetely no skill to get the right pixel to jump off with dustkid. if my english would be better i could describe it more but my english sucks so i can make you pictures or so on the parts that i mean.

Since posting this, I've played through the entire map as Dustkid to an SD and I honestly do not see what you are talking about. There are no pixel-perfect jumps as any character, it all comes down to skill.

In my opinion, at least.

for the record Syena Dustkid is probably the worst character to play this map as (due to the ending) and even for me (A not so good player) I can't find any jumps that are specifically difficult the only difficulty is in the flow between jumps which is all good timing and well executed manoeuvres

I was actually ASKING you to give me more feedback as to what parts you were unsure about; with randomness and all.

I don't mind positive or negative feedback! If you give me more of a hand with figuring out what the bad parts of the map are, I can keep it in mind for future maps! Remember, I am still very new :3

No one ever woke up and said "Giga walls and claustrophobic spike tunnels are fun, let's make a level based almost entirely on them". Do you yourself have fun going through the level or did you just make it for the sake of difficulty? :\

Giga walls was because I only learnt how to do them, like, a week ago (thanks to that, my Yotta run went from a nothing to an SB)... I thought "Hey, I should put these in!". Sorry bout that.

And I do have fun going through the level!!! :D

This level really made my horrid air control stand out more lol. I thought giga walls were neat before but this many in one level makes my head spin @.@. I liked the challenge of completing the level but I'm not so sure about going for the SS.

I think your terror difficult tag is appropriate :p

That's exactly what I thought about Yotta, until I at down and figured out what the hell to do inorder to SS, and I still only have an SB.

If I can go for an SS on Yotta for this long, then at least you can try and get there on Incyanity :D

Super finicky almost random feeling parts, areas that crash Dustgirl like crazy, weird dust and block placement, not enough combo to super where you need to, a lack of checkpoints in harder areas...Been a while since I've had this little fun in a level lol.

Not having that combo when you get to the prism was intentional. Its there to slow you down a bit, because without it, the map would be more "random".
A lack of checkpoints? If anything, I thought there were too many.

Is this the final version? I'm a pure Dustkid player myself and the diamond portion of the level is really not fun. There's way too much going on for Dustkid since I don't fall as fast. I have to rely on dash + down dash to avoid hitting spikes instead of being able to fall cleanly. Especially on the right side with the rise I had to rely on a spike jump and I still can't clear that section.

I would like to finish this but this definitely punishes me for being a Dustkid.

I wanted to make the map more Dustkid-friendly, but I couldnt do tha without making it easier/harder for other characters.

And I find that portion of the map really eaay as Dustkid, actually.No spikejumping, you kust have to know what you're doing :)

I suppose so. There really isn't much sight reading in this map, it really does feel like a trial and error set pieces.

I hope someone manages to SS it, I would like to see a complete run.

Im now 45+ minutes into the level... WHERE DOES IT END?

Checkppints could be doubled, Its not immpossibly hard, but its hard enough that you need to spend several mintues on a section to get it down

Trick question... it doesnt ;)

All my playtesters said that thr checkpoints were fine. And after they said that, I added a couple more. Maybe just open the map up in the editor and use that for practice?

Also my thought process when seeing this: "A hard map? I bet it's all tight spaces with spikes." I was not proven wrong. Requesting hard maps that DON'T involve floating through corridors you can't even jump in.

I did that about 10min ago :/

Funny you should say that, I'm currently working on another challenge map which has very, very few spikes in it. So far about 30 seconds has been built.

Ohhhhhh.

On that part there, as long as you drop off of the corner, you'll hit another checkpoint hitbox which will spawn you where you were standing. I had that part of the map set up as it is to punish people that try to slope boost - they'll just hit the spikes and respawn back up the top.

Yeah, I noticed that. The thing is, I really like how the giga pillars work. Having such little time to maneuver yourself is difficult, sure, but once you get used to it they're really not that bad.

Two months late to the party, Dustworth finally stops being terrible and wins even though he still messed up horribly everywhere.
