"Mega is Bullshit" - Every single person in #dustforce

DUSTWORTH AND DUSTKID CAN DOUBLE KILL THE HEAVY PRISMS!  It's difficult, but possible.

   This is my remake of Mega Difficult.  I have made the map physically resemble the bullshit it so obviously is.  This is the last time I will be using the shitty shit tileset.

   For the longest time, my oldest memories of starting Dustforce and first joining the IRC were the memes therein, especially this one.  So I have turned the meme into a full blown map.  This map is hard, and a lot of the jumps are needlessly tight.  Prepare to die to spikes that are directly in your way repeatedly.  But hey, at least I have made some minor improvements.  The heavy prisms are spaced for all the characters now, so I added some slope boosty parts to give some speed advantage back to Dustman / Dustgirl.  Also, most of the vertical sections still involve a lot of time-locked horizontal movement, so Dustworth won't be able to dominate the SS runs.  There is no spike-jumping required to SS the map and if you rely on any then you are a little baby.

As for the any%... well I actually did design that for Dustworth so he can dominate that.  It is all spike-jumping and a bit more complex than it was in the original.

Yes, as a fatter of mact I can SS this shit.  All mapmakers should be able to SS anything they publish, or they shouldn't publish it.

My instinctive answer is yes, on the grounds of that map being awful.  But, since it is a joke and jokes make people laugh and spread smiles, it's probably fine.  This is why we must be gr8 and not h8.

It's a frame of mind that can help with new mapmakers who make an uber shite difficult map that is well well beyond their skill and also entirely awkward and no fun to play.  I will go find and link specific examples if you want.  "If YOU can't stand to play your own map, why would someone else want to?"

Yeah I can understand if they make a map and can barely do individually parts let alone finish it, its probably gonna be pretty awkward. But still I feel like if parts actually work and flow together, it doesn't matter. Kinda like the last runs before SS'ing yotta, you can 1-2shot all parts, but not quite put it together. Supremely difficult is a good example(except for the camera at the start).

I would not call this an improvement for Worth in terms of awkwardness. Still a cool map, though.

Thanks.  I just made it so that every character can use the same number of heavies in the mega tunnels.  The map is definitely still awkward as hell for Dustworth.

I just realised how rude my comment sounds, despite me really liking the map. Just clarifying that I don't have any problem with it being awkward; it only serves to make it a more satisfying SS for Worth. Sorry!

map accomplishes it's goal perfectly. If you wanted to make the map feel genuinely enjoyable, I suggest two changes:

Use a sublayer to make the dust slightly lighter in color, so that it's easier to see and so that the particle effects everywhere don't make it looks like every surface has dust

When you first start moving back to the left, extend the wall you dash off of by 1 tile and raise the next 10-seconds worth of the level by 1 tile to match. stop at the 3 heavy prisms after the second mega tunnel. the first two should be raised by 1 tile with the rest but the 3rd prism and the rest of the level should remain at the current height
