The background, foreground and actual place you walk are stupidly hard to tell apart.

I'm not sure I would say "stupidly", but yeah, it could definitely use some work.  I think, more importantly though, is that you can't really see what's ahead so the path can be a bit ambiguous.  Using camera nodes and making the background layers darker would've helped greatly.

It's good to see you making maps again, sfargang!  I enjoyed your previous ones.

not only what marksel said but you should also mess with the camera nodes. every jump i found myself confused where to go next
