If you are going to have the drop down move a bit to the left I would recommend a larger camera to allow the player some reaction time.

I'll be sure to do that when I use cameras at all, this map uses the default and it doesn't hurt it that much (I hope).

Originally I wanted to make it a swerving line of blocks (like in Tera) but I had trouble consistently catching everything in the middle section.

Yeah I normally just use the default camera. If you want, you can start the level off and have a detach camera with a slightly larger frame so that it still follows the player but shows more.
