The range of colors within the circle represents the diversity of the world, which to which the wealth of the world (the dust) is divided. As you look at the map you'll notice the concentration of wealth towards the center while a lack of dust near the edges, representing the wealth gap of our society, and the difficulty of living on the outer edges.
