Sometimes the only thing left to try is SHIFT!
It's starting to feel like most of my levels are just stealing mechanics from other games! But it always makes for a fun coding/problem solving challenge.
The rather simple gameplay in the map is largely due to the fact that spikes and surface dust can only exist on one layer at a time, making it awkward to include them. I managed to sidestep this restriction for the prisms by manipulating which team each entity is on, and redrawing the sprites in the correct locations. If anyone knows of a way to draw dust/spike sprites I would be all ears!
