I think someone once explained this was a bug in the original game and the patch never made it to the linux version.  The only stock level I've noticed it on is hideout.

Not sure what's happening to others. But I seem to gain altitude when I dash during the first section (over the gaps) making me go over the dust. I'm on a Mac.
