certain sections feel awkward, like ceiling slides that are too long to complete without losing momentum, and a forced spikejump that is super slow, etc. However, all in all it was a good map, enjoyed. 3.5/5 Good for a first map
EDIT: Also, NEVER put your spawn point OR your checkpoint flags IN THE AIR. Always place them on the ground. Its obnoxious to respawn in the air and drop down all the time >>

You know.. you didn't have to put caps on certain words or tell me how obnoxious it is for you. It is my very first map, you know, and I'm not an expert nor is it perfect.

Yeah, I'm not really good at making maps :/ I've never played the game, but got interested in making maps after watching my boyfriend play countless hours on this game.

No one starts off as a pro. Keep making maps and you'll find yourself getting the hang of it pretty quickly!

Because of the fact that you have never played the game I would say that this is a great first map.

I would definitely suggest, that if you have access to the game to make maps... you play the game and other custom maps to get a feel for what works and what doesn't. Seems like you are doing things backwards.

It never occurred to me that I was doing things backwards.

I didn't trust the map.... you can see that in my replay, and i missed dust. Blind drops are a nono for future reference. However fun to play, just a little finicky :P

Is there a website that has all these rules and instructions on how to make a map? I wasn't able to find one prior to starting. Maybe I missed it.

Blind drops are a little harder to fix since you have to use different kinds of camera nodes or zoom out further, and if you zoom out too far (about 1600 units) then it starts lagging for some people. For early maps I'd just advise against big drops of any kind, and learn the camera slowly. Then you can use it to make far reaching obstacles and tricky things without them being blind, because the camera can be made to move ahead of the player. There's not a website of instructions, but the IRC channel has all the top speedrunners who are also knowledgeable about making maps and answer questions. That's #dustforce @ irc.speedrunslive.com

Lol... you know the atlas is a negative/hostile place when you are not sure if people are serious or sarcastic about comments like this. I liked, was fun map :D
